Our Expertise

Stress, Anxiety, & Depression
We all have mental health in the same way that we all have physical health. Mental health issues are common but many of us know little about our mental health compared to our physical health.
Overcoming stigma
Stigma and lack of awareness can stop people from talking about their mental health, delaying them from getting the support needed for recovery.
Good news
The good news is that there are simple things we can all do to identify emerging mental health issues in ourselves and others and provide support and information.
Suicide First Aid
Our SFA courses help you: recognise the signs of suicide behaviour;
approach someone having suicide thoughts and help them move from a place of crisis to a place of safety
Reactions to our Courses
From a District Council, Adult MHFA course:
This course was very informative and helpful. David was an excellent instructor, he engaged everyone on the course and helped everyone to form a bond where we felt comfortable to trust and share. The tone, speed and pitch were just right and he ensured that everyone felt ok at every stage and gave us the option not to join in if anyone was feeling vulnerable.
He answered all our questions and gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions to further understanding. I would recommend David and the course as the information was very useful for work, relationships and everyday life and it would benefit as many people as possible to have this information.
From School staff, Youth MHFA course:
An intense but rewarding course. Great 'team' atmosphere throughout. Delegates and Tutor were respectful of each other, and supportive and understanding about the sensitive nature of some of the discussions and material. Great course materials and links.
The course has affirmed that I have a good understanding and awareness of mental health from previous training and experience, and has expanded this knowledge and ensured I am up-to-date with current thinking. It has provided useful suggestions for resources and approaches to supporting young people. I feel more confident to tackle concerns raised by students, and to support staff in any processes relating to this.A brilliant experience. Thank you!
